Express Security services at various airports in Canada

Travelling can be stressful.  Some of Canada’s top airports have heard travelers’ pleas and are working to expedite the process of getting through security.   Here’s what you need to know to have a better experience at the airport:

Toronto Pearson International Airport – YYZ Express

Experience expedited access to screening without a membership. Schedule your reservation for screening ahead of time or when you’re at the airport. With less time waiting, you’ll have more time to relax and enjoy!

Reservations and walk-up appointments are available daily for all Domestic and International departing passengers at Terminal 1 D Gates security screening point from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm and Terminal 3 B and C Gates security screening point from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm.*

If your flight departure falls outside of the hours of operation for YYZ Express, you may not find it on the list to select.

*Appointment availability is limited. Reserve your spot early to get the time you prefer!

YYZ Express is not currently available for flights departing to the United States.

How it works

1. Sign up before your flight or when you arrive at the airport
2. Select the airline you’re flying with, destination, and flight number along with your name, number of people in your group, and contact information to save your spot
3. Once you’re at the airport, your time is yours! Check your bags, grab some coffee, spend more time with loved ones, or just walk up at your reservation time
4. Go to your assigned checkpoint and look for the virtual queue logo
5. Show airport staff your QR code and you’re ready to go through screening!

Vancouver International Airport – YVR Express

Passengers travelling through Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to the United States now have the option to streamline their experience through security screening with YVR EXPRESS.

YVR EXPRESS allows you to schedule a specific time to enter security screening and avoid waiting in line prior to moving through the screening process. Travellers to the U.S. can schedule their time to enter security screening through YVR EXPRESS up to 72 hours ahead of their flight departure time.

Enjoy less waiting at YVR in four simple steps:

1. Travelling to the U.S.? Schedule your security screening time through YVR EXPRESS in advance up to 72 hours before your flight or when you arrive to the airport.
2. Select the airline you're flying with, destination, and flight number along with the number of people in your party, and your email address to save your spot.
3. Once you are at the airport, check any bags and walk up to your assigned security screening checkpoint within 15 minutes of your reserved time.
4. Look for the YVR EXPRESS signs at Security Checkpoint E (US Departures). Show airport staff your reservation QR code, and you are ready to go through screening!

Calgary International Airport – YYC Express

Your time while travelling is important, let the Calgary airport help with YYC Express, a reservation program for access to security screening via a dedicated queue for guests flying out of YYC! Experience expedited access to screening, no membership required. Schedule your appointment for screening ahead of time, or when you’re at the terminal.

Reservations and walk-up appointments are available for departing and general screening passengers daily at Security D and E with its checkpoint hours for all airline passengers!*

*Appointment availability is limited, reserve your spot early to get the appointment time you'd prefer! 

How it works

1. Sign up in advance up to one hour before your flight or when you arrive to the airport!
2. Select the airline you're flying with, destination, and flight number along with your name, number of people in your party, and contact information to save your spot.
3. Once you’re at the airport, your time is yours! Check your bags, grab some coffee, spend more time with loved ones, or just walk up at your appointment time.
4. Go to your assigned checkpoint and look for the virtual queue logo or use our interactive map for step-by-step directions. YYC Express is available at Security D and E. Show airport staff your QR code, and you’re ready to go through screening!

Edmonton International Airport – YEG Express

YEG EXPRESS is a reservation program for access to Central Security screening at Edmonton International Airport.

By using YEG EXPRESS, your place in the line is expedited to the front of the queue. You simply schedule your appointment for screening in advance from home or when you get to the airport. It is free for all passengers to use. Enjoy less time waiting and more time to shop, dine and relax before you board your plane.

Reservations and walk-up appointments are available for departing passengers at YEG’s Central Security screening area for domestic and international travellers.

How it works

1. Sign up in advance up to 72 hours before your flight departure time at home or when you arrive at the airport (domestic or international flights; excludes US departures).
2. Select the airline you’re flying with, your destination and your flight number along with your name, the number of people in your party and contact information to save your spot.
3. Once you’re at the airport check-in and check your bags as you normally would. Then feel free to grab a snack and spend more time with loved ones until your appointment time.
4. Go to YEG Central Security screening area and look for the YEG EXPRESS virtual queue entrance area
5. Show airport staff your QR code and you’re ready to go through screening!
